the project

To celebrate our talented and diverse queer community, The Rocks, Darling Harbour, and Authority Creative have come together to curate the Pride Art Trail - a showcase of artworks by a dynamic lineup of artists who share a strong commitment to World Pride and are deeply embedded in the LGBTQIA+ community. The Pride Art Trail is an exploration of sexuality, gender, and self-love, projecting queer voices and celebrating the beauty of this vibrant community.

The Trail

Set against the stunning backdrop of Sydney's vibrant waterfront precincts, we produced a Trail of public structures hosting captivating mural artworks that embody and celebrate the mission of World Pride.

The Trail featured an array of breathtaking artworks by a diverse group of talented local and interstate artists, including Jeff McCann, Zev Tropp, Micke Lindebergh, Abbey Rich, George Goodnow, Elin Matilda, and more. The Trail of public artworks was designed to provide visitors with an exciting and engaging experience as they discovered each unique and bold artwork.

The kaleidoscope of colour and art that greeted visitors is a testament to the creativity of the queer community, and a tribute to the enduring message of love and acceptance that World Pride represents.

The Area

Nestled along the northern shores of Sydney Cove, between the historic Bennelong Point and The Rocks, lies Circular Quay - a bustling harbour that boasts a rich history, diverse offerings, and modern-day conveniences. Once a thriving working port, it now serves as a vibrant tourism precinct and international passenger port, drawing visitors from all corners of the world. This iconic destination not only celebrates its heritage as an integral part of Sydney's past but also serves as a vital transport node for the city's bustling central business district.

Around the corner is the iconic waterside precinct Darling Harbour. Originally a working port, the area underwent a major transformation in the 1980s and was developed into a mixed-use precinct that now boasts a range of entertainment and food attractions catering to local and international visitors. Darling Harbour also hosts regular events and festivals throughout the year.

Situated within the City of Sydney's local government area, Circular Quay and Darling Harbour stand as a testament to the city's dynamic character and vibrant spirit.
