  CLIENT: PACIFIC Bondi Beach

BRIEF: Not your everyday canvas. Forty square metres of aluminium louvers covering a large electric substation at the back of Bondi's newest development, PACIFIC.

Unlike most developments, PACIFIC wasn't satisfied with just accepting the industrially drab nature of substation ventilation and wanted to turn it from functional to fantastic.

Sydney's own Sid Tapia designed an artwork which not only fit into the ascetic of the architecture but the area as well. The colourful letters P.U.R.E. adorn four types of leisure craft synonymous with Bondi: The Skateboard, The Surfboard, The Bodyboard and the Paddleboard. The complete word not only represents the beautiful areas of pure white, but the relevance of each board to the pure identity of Bondi itself.
